On May 10, 2023, the Canadian government introduced a redesigned passport, bolstering its reputation as one of the world’s most secure travel documents. The new design includes state-of-the-art security features like a laser-engraved polycarbonate data page and a Kinegram over the main photo, making it more resistant to tampering and counterfeiting.
The passport also showcases a fresh, modern look that celebrates Canada’s cultural heritage and the country’s natural beauty across the four seasons. The cover features an outline of a maple leaf, marking a significant design change.
The new passport will be available later this summer, with further details about the roll-out to be provided in due course. The Canadian government also plans to enhance online services, making the process of renewing passports and paying fees more convenient starting this fall.
