Canada and Finland Strengthen Youth Engagement and Cultural Exchange with New Mobility Agreement

The Canadian government, represented by the Honourable Patty Hajdu and the Republic of Finland, represented by His Excellency Roy Eriksson, have announced the signing of the Canada-Finland Youth Mobility Agreement. This agreement, set to come into force in 2024, is designed to expand cultural experiences and improve job prospects for Canadian and Finnish youth aged 18 to 35, enabling them to work and travel in each other’s countries. The initiative operates under International Experience Canada or the Finnish equivalent, with three categories: Working Holiday, International Co-op, and Young Professionals. The agreement builds on the strong bilateral relations between Canada and Finland, celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2022, and aims to particularly support Francophone and Indigenous youth.
